HOW TO GET THERE
The sanctuary has an area of 95.97 hectares and is located in the town of Tunquén , in the communes of Casablanca and Algarrobo.
It can only be reached by private transport. To do this, you must travel along Route 68 until you reach kilometer 90, near the Lago Peñuelas National Reserve.
From Santiago you have to take the “Quintay-Tunquén” exit (underpass), while if you are coming from Valparaíso you must take the “Quintay-Tunquén” side toll.
Next, continue straight on Route F-800 for 17 km until you reach the Quintay-Tunquén intersection. Turn left towards Tunquén on Route F-818. Follow this route for approximately 10 km until you reach the Casablanca Stream ford. Turning right there will lead you to the entrance of the Sanctuary.
There is a parking lot ($3,500) for those who want to access the trail that leads to Playa Grande or the Sanctuary.
The service operates from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Monday through Sunday, during the summer, and on weekends and holidays the rest of the year. Restroom facilities are also available ($500).
RECOMMENDATIONS
The Sanctuary currently has no infrastructure or facilities for visitors, so there are no restrooms or trash cans, so we would appreciate it if you would keep your trash and take it back with you.
Not permitted: picnicking, lighting fires, barbecuing, using music equipment, bringing pets, drinking alcohol, smoking, crossing trail boundaries, fishing, hunting, bringing bicycles, running and shouting, throwing objects into the water or bathing in the wetland, or any act that disturbs the wildlife present.
Enjoy nature, without leaving a trace.
